Chennai: South Indian film stars stood witness to one of the most dazzling nights as they walked the red carpet at the 59th Idea Filmfare Awards 2011 (South) held in Chennai on Sunday.

Actors and technicians from the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam film industries were a part of the glitzy evening that swept live audiences off their feet. If Tollywood blockbuster Dookudu that starred Mahesh Babu stole the show with six awards, in Sandalwood, Mollywood, and Kollywood, offbeat cinema stole the thunder. Sanju Weds Geetha (Kannada) and Pranayam (Malayalam) won four awards each, while the Tamil film Aadukalam fetched the team five awards, which included a technical award for cinematography.

We didn't find out about the Playboy cover until she was posing for it. Clever girl! After tweeting snaps of her and Hugh Hefner at the Playboy Mansion, Sherlyn's back in India. And one of the first things she did was to address the press. True to her 'oomph' tag, she kept things smokin' hot in a green sari and a backless, plunging blouse. The Playboy cover will be released in November 2012, the theme of the photoshoot was holi. So get ready to see Sherlyn's birthday suit in an array of colours.

Bipasha Basu Visits Rana in Hyderabad The actress flew down to surprise her "friend" on his birthday on December 14. Bipasha Basu flew down to Hyderabad on Tuesday evening to bring in the birthday of her "special friend" Rana Daggubati (December 14). It was a surprise visit for the birthday boy and Bips made sure no one told him about her imminent arrival. Says a source, "Bipasha and Rana were in Goa last week shooting and hanging out with friends. Once Rana left, she decided to make a surprise visit to Hyderabad for his birthday. She left from Mumbai the evening before to bring in his birthday with him. Bips is scared of flying, but that didn't stop her from wanting to spend some quality time with Rana. Even though she'd bought him an expensive present, for Rana the best gift was her surprise arrival." Bipasha remained unavailable for comment, but we hear she flew to Bengaluru from there yesterday.
