Madonna Drops Aldo Pseudo-Product Placement Into New Song
Madonna Drops Aldo Pseudo-Product Placement Into New Song |
Ever the shrewd businesswoman, Madonna has injected her latest work with a reference to one of her other business projects—a practice long-established in the hip-hop world and grimly tolerated in many big budget music videos. But it’s weird.
As Jezebel notes, in the song “I Don’t Give A,” Madonna’s technicolor toady Nicki Minaj raps, “We material girls, ain’t nobody hotter, fox collar/See I really can’t relate to your Volvo, and you can’t get these shoes at Aldo.”
Okay, Nicki wears shoes that are beyond most people’s grasp. Noted. But considering Madonna’s upcoming shoe line Truth or Dare is to be produced by Aldo, the name-dropping is more than a little bizarre.
